REUSABLE SYSTEMS

Fresh fruit and vegetables have become an indispensable part of European supermarkets and retail stores. Their year-round provision requires a complex logistics system. Plastic crates, cardboard packaging and wooden boxes are mainly used as transport packaging for fruit and vegetables.

It's not just the flora that can breathe a sigh of relief. The reusable pallet systems known as plant trays, make this possible. After a gardener has delivered the plants to the store, the pallets are cleaned and returned to the gardener. A cycle in which no additional plastic waste is generated.

Reusable systems exist for beer, water and fizzy drinks, and to a much lesser extent for juice, milk and wine, which are exempt from the deposit.

The vegan industry is constantly growing. The worldwide flow of goods must be organised in an efficient, cost-optimised and environmentally friendly manner. Are consumers also concerned about how vegan products get into industry and retail?

We have been engaged in dialogue with stakeholders to optimise the conditions in reusable meat crates and to provide ideas for a sustainable further development of the system for some time now.

The automotive industry has changed more rapidly than almost any other industry in the last century. Due to the dynamic development, reacting faster and faster to new trends and high fluctuations in demand is vital.

Reusable pallets are the backbone of modern logistics. The use of high-bay warehouses, industrial trucks or modern conveyor technology would not be possible without high-quality reusable pallets. Approximately 550 million standard reusable pallets are currently in use in Europe. The EPAL pallets and the pallets of the pooling providers in this area make up a large portion of this.
