On three stages, over 100 experts will explore the potential and business models behind the PPWR and new markets for reusable and pooling systems—while around 40 exhibitors and startups will showcase innovative products and solutions across the entire supply chain. 

The distinguished speakers include Carsten Schneider (Federal Minister for the Environment), Emmanuelle Maire (European Commission), Dr. Frauke Bagusche (marine biologist), Jürgen Trittin (former Federal Minister), Silke Düwel-Rieth (Head of the Economics & Markets Division at WWF Germany),  Christian Moser, Member of the German Bundestag (CSU), Michael Thews, Member of the German Bundestag (SPD), Gunda Rachut (Central Agency for Packaging Register), Bernhard Lorentz (Deloitte), Britta Wyss Bisang (IPL Schoeller), Ute Bonde (Berlin Senator for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection, and the Environment), Dirk Bansemer (Euro Plant Tray), and Michael Henke (Fraunhofer IML).

The planned Packaging Act Implementation Act (VerpackDG) will significantly shape the political debate in 2026. The law aims to further prevent and reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste and to promote a circular economy. This marks the beginning of a new phase for the issue of reusable packaging in Germany.

In this historic year of sustainability, 2026, the smartvillage in Berlin offers us a fitting event location: The event center, located next to Neukölln City Hall, has been freshly renovated and was created through the repurposing of a former department store complex.
