No blocking of the EU packaging regulation!
According to media reports, a potential trade deal is emerging between Germany and Italy, possibly at the expense of the PPWR. It is reported that Christian Lindner has agreed to block the PPWR. In response, the SIM and various associations have written letters to the Federal Chancellor and the Environment Minister.
Germany's decision on 4 March in the trilogue on the EU packaging regulation could be the solution to Europe's growing waste crisis. However, a possible blockade threatens not only to hinder the urgently needed reduction in packaging waste, but also to jeopardise Germany's reputation as a pioneer of the circular economy. Various associations, including the Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg, have therefore written to Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke. Read the letters now!
